Streaming today, I tell ya, is like OPTION OVERLOAD, but when it comes to music, I'll take it. As you all know I follow QuestLove on The Roots Youtube channel and I've been in his sets from day one since March of 2020.
A lot of the sets contain music that, well for the lack of a better word, gets the sets snatched off Youtube. Oh but here's where streaming comes to save the day. There are various platforms that these sets are uploaded to and MixCloud is one of them. One of the best hip hop sets was from about 4 months ago; the set featured hip hop songs that sampled Kool & The Gang. Yes, the Celebrate Good Times, Kool & The Gang actually has a catalog so sweet that he was able to create a set from samples of their music.
The set is entitled QuestLove Presents the Kool & The Gang Samples Hip Hop Set and it's everything Hip Hop heads will love and OH SO WORTH A LISTEN. Got a little over 3 hours to kill, project you need to focus on, just got that thing you gotta finish, this is your set.
Oh and by the way...MixCloud will also let you create your own mix...yes you heard me, but that's another post for another time LOL
