I love music and like most of us, we have songs that take us back to our childhood, youth and beyond. This soundtrack is exactly that for me, a journey back to a time where FM Radio, American Bandstand and Soul Train were the source of all things music.
I grew up with David Bowie and my heart leaped when I heard Moon Age Day Dream playing in the movie. I loved this cassette tape so much. My brother played it over and over and over and he never knew until a few years ago that I actually still had the cassette tape.
When I handed it to him I explained that I always liked the songs on the tape when he played them. He just smiled at me and said "Wow Les, I had no idea and you actually still have this"...my brother and I were always in sync that way. I could hear a song playing and know without a doubt, my brother will love this song. So I'd download it and send it to him back home.
He's not here to share the memories this soundtrack brings to mind, but I know within my heart, he hears the joy it brings me and that we will always be connected thru music. So with that said, I share this soundtrack with you and an era in music that is timeless, emotional and most of all Oh So Worth a Listen.
